A 145-hectare forest in Wales has come to the market for offers over £5.5million.
Part of a commercial complex well known for its high productivity, Bryn Forest is a high-yielding, second-rotation Sitka spruce plantation near Tregaron in Ceredigion.
Olly Thompson, of selling agents GOLDCREST Land & Forestry Group, said: “Bryn Forest is a prime forest in west Wales benefitting from excellent internal infrastructure and good growing conditions. This is a great opportunity to acquire a good quality established forest, something which is rarely available on the open market and hard to find.
“It is also well placed for local and national timber processors; there is strong demand for timber in the area and competition from a number of processors. As part of a larger forestry complex, it benefits from shared road costs and operational scale.
“Bryn Forest offers an excellent opportunity for medium to long-term investment. At an average age of 19 years, even the oldest crops will not require felling for at least another 10 years and as such will require low capital input until the next felling phase. Additionally, while the price of timber is softening at the moment, forecasts suggest timber will be in stronger demand by the next harvest in 10 years’ time.
“This is an outstanding offering, particularly given a drop in commercial forestry coming to the market, and we expect it to attract significant interest.”
