Gallybank Woodland is located just 4 miles south of Banchory in Aberdeenshire. The area benefits from soils and climatic conditions which are favourable for conifer production. There are major timber processing plants nearby at Banchory (Cordiners) and at Aboyne (James Jones). There are also sawmills at Fordoun, Nethy Bridge and Fochabers. Description
Gallybank Woodland – 58.00 Hectares / 143.32 Acres
Gallybank is a highly attractive conifer woodland which has been planted with predominantly Scots pine over heather and bilberry. Some of the crops are now mature and could be harvested to be replaced with faster growing crops. In 2020, an area was cleared and plated with Sitka spruce which is now well established.
